AS does not have direct
access to World Tracer Management (WTM) as they feel this is too
expensive. At present they use a SITA link to World Tracer.
The lost luggage, damaged or found
baggage files are filled out in the same format as if the user
was using a WTM system. All 3 letter codes, damaged codes, baggage
type codes etc. are exactly the same as WTM.

|
 |
When the report
has been taken, a copy is sent via SITA to WTM and immediately
the user is issued with a “message received” prompt
from WTM and a Lost baggage file reference (AHL), Damaged file
reference (DPR) or Found baggage reference code (OHD), back via
SITA and this is then entered into the file. |
|
|
As the file reference
is a true WTM file reference code, the tracing begins immediately
within WTM for tag matches, type matches etc. exactly the same
as if the link had been direct.
This is a relatively inexpensive method of baggage
tracing with the same results.
