Prior
to the beginning of check-in, the actual flight must be set-up
(aircraft planning stage) in the system. This is done by combining
all of the aircraft and cabin information (configuration, registration,
seat rows and aircraft weights etc.) with the Passenger Name List
(PNL) and passenger special information (SSR and oncarraige information).
This is simplified within the AS
system as the user only needs to choose the aircraft registration
and then add the date, seat configuration (also called version)
and origin/destination of aircraft and because of aircraft information
and timetables etc. already in the CDB, the flight will be created.
The user then chooses the appropriate boarding gate if known.
At this stage all that is required is the PNL. As explained earlier
this will come via SITA and is automatically routed to the correct
flight so much of this process is automated. |
