The
Central Data Base (CDB) is the foundation of the AS system. It
is vital to every other module within the system. All other modules
are co-dependent on the CDB. |
|
| |
The
CDB consists of numerous data tables that become the origin of
information for all other functions. These data tables include
all flight timetables (scheduled and charter), 3 letter airport
codes, 2 or 3 digit airline designator codes, user information,
delay codes (including sub-delay codes), currency and worldwide
time conversion tables, SITA address book, aircraft parking positions
and a full data system for each aircraft registration including
cabin configurations and weight restrictions etc. |
|
| |
 |
The CDB also holds information that is used for the invoicing
module. This information includes addresses, contract information
and price lists for different airlines.
The CDB can be updated with new information at anytime e.g.
daily currency converter or weekly flight timetable. The CDB
can only be updated or changed by a user with a high level login.
|
|
|
To
update or change information within the CDB, the user must enter
into that particular module (e.g. currency table or aircraft types)
by clicking on these areas and once inside the requested table,
the user then overwrites the information and clicks on save, at
this stage confirmation of the login information is required again
thus allowing only supervisory or management staff to make adjustments
to the fundamental information of the CDB. In the aircraft information
module the system will also allow the user to see when the information
was last updated or changed.
