The cargo module
is used for creating and printing the actual Airwaybill (AWB)
and Cargo Manifest and all other documents or paperwork used in
connection with the Cargo handling function. The Cargo module
is once again, fully integrated with all other modules enabling
the Cargo department access to flight schedules or weight and
balance information and also allowing the weight and balance department
access to real-time cargo information per flight. |

|
The Cargo module
is also very easy to understand and operate. In order for the
agent to create an AWB, they use a pre-prepared mask and add or
alter the details to produce a relevant AWB containing all shipping
advise, details of goods, special handling information, weight
and most importantly the airway bill number itself. There are
many drop-down lists of choices for choosing company names and
once a particular shipping company has been selected, the address
and invoicing details will appear on the screen automatically.
There is also a drop down list of 3 letter codes for description
of goods. These descriptions are only used if the items being
transported are of a dangerous goods or special goods nature e.g.
PER for perishables, REX for explosives or HUM for human organs.
All of these codes are based on the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations
(DGR).

From
the AWB information a Cargo Manifest can be created for use by
the weight and balance staff, captain and destination airport
staff. The other documents that may be produced include invoices
for services provided, statistical/historical reports and the
NOTOC (notification to captain of dangerous or special handling
goods). The NOTOC is printed automatically once the cargo department
adds details of any special/dangerous goods traveling. |
